NORMANDY, Mo. – Maryville University men's and women's swimming took on the University of Missouri – St. Louis and Quincy University on Saturday afternoon. The Saints had multiple standout performances including third-place finishes from 
Devon Tallent and the women's 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
Tallent, a senior from Ferguson, Mo., tallied the top individual finish of either squad with a bronze in the 200-yard backstroke. He finished in 2:01.01, five seconds off the top mark and less than a second before Ryan Conner from UMSL in fourth. Tallent also teamed up with 
Wyatt Martin, 
Gavin Baldes, and 
Colin Fitzgerald in the 400-yard medley relay for a fourth-place finish in that event.
 
After wrapping up the 400-yard medley, Fitzgerald clocked in a 22.66 in the 50-yard freestyle to take sixth. Later in the 14
th event of the afternoon, the Chaminade Prep product ended the 100-yard freestyle with a 49.69, good for fifth.
 
Junior 
Paige Bolling earned the top individual spot for the women after coming in fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. She completed the race with a 1:01.55, one spot ahead of Maryville freshman 
Ellie Williams who put up a 1:01.87 in fifth place.
 
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team composed of 
Hannah Doss, 
Aspyn Howard, Bolling, and 
Isabelle Calabio, bested Quincy University and took third with a 1:48.57. Other notable finishes were Calabio's sixth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and Doss' sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
 
Maryville Swimming will continue the season in the second semester with a Jan. 20, matchup against Lewis University. The meet is slated to begin at 1 p.m., in Romeoville, Ill.
