ST. LOUIS – 
Elsa Nilson-Hurtig's goal at 50:36 gave Maryville women's soccer a 1-1 draw with eighth-ranked Grand Valley State University on Saturday afternoon. The Saints wrapped up the opening weekend with a 0-1-1 record against a pair of teams ranked in the top 10.    
Run of Play:
	- Both teams registered two shot attempts within the first 12 minutes of the game.
- Lexi Gentry sent one off the crossbar at the 12-minute mark.
- Gigi Yurevich made the only save of the first half at 34:48, shutting down a low attempt from Taylor Reid.
- The Lakers went up 1-0 with a goal from Kacy Lauer in the first three minutes of the second half.
- Ashlyne Hunt found Elsa Nilson-Hurtig in the offensive zone at 50:36 and she tied the game up at one.
- In the 64th minute, Sara Lawler tried to give the Saints the lead in the but sent it over the net.
- GVSU outshot the Saints 13-4 in total but had only two on target.

	- Elsa Nilson-Hurtig scored her first goal since netting the game-winner in the 2022 GLVC Semifinals against Drury University.
