Smithville, Mo. - Ivy Lai and Effie Perakis tied for eighth place overall as the Maryville women's golf squad wound up in fifth place at the Kansas City Cup held at Paradise Point Golf Course. The Saints finished the tournament in Smithville, Mo., with scores of 321-314=635.
 
Lai had two birdies and fired a 77 in the final round to finish the tournament at 155. Perakis matched her total of 155 after a closing score of 78. Maggie King registered two birdies during her final round and posted a 78 to finish the tournament at 161.
 
Jenna Clark came home at 84 for a two-round total of 167, while Sydney McCord trimmed six shots from her first round and posted an 81 for a 168 total. Chloe Davidson carded an 86 and finished at 171.
 
McKendree claimed the team championship with a score of 611, and Bearcat Waritsara Rungrojanaluk from McKendree was the individual winner at 146. The Saints have a break in tournament play and are not in action until Oct. 16-17 at the McKendree Dual Gender Tournament hosted at Far Oaks Golf Club in Collinsville, Ill.
