INDIANAPOLIS – The Maryville University women's basketball was tabbed to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) this season, receiving 140 total points in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The preseason poll is determined by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Saints are coming off a GLVC Championship semifinals appearance last season alongside a 19-11 overall record as well as a stout 15-7 conference mark.
The Saints return their fifth leading scorer in
Gracie Stugart who started all 30 contests for the Saints, leading the team in assists with 124 while also snatching 45 steals, also a team high.
Annika Pluemer also returns to the court, a core bench piece from a year prior, Pluemer averaged 15.4 minutes off the bench, with 2.6 rebounds per game.
The Saints begin their 2024-25 campaign with a pair of Division I-exhibitions, facing off with SIUE on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. and then traveling to the Hoosier state for a battle with the Indiana Hoosiers on Wednesday, Oct. 30. They willl offically begin their season at home versus Wis.-Parkside on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
