LIBERTY, Mo. – The first meet of the
Savannah Erickson led Maryville swimming teams is in the book as the Saints took the trip west to Liberty, Mo. to face off with the William Jewell Cardinals and the College of Saint Mary Flames.

The women's team battled both Jewell and Saint Mary, dropping both matchups. The Saints dropped the Jewell bout 164-31 and finished against the Flames 110-69.

On the men's side they only faced Jewell, falling 174-28.

From the women's side, it was a quality day of
Khadija Moustafa who highlighted the performances with a second-place finish in the 200-meter fly, finishing in 2:47.71.

The freshman from Cairo, Egypt, also performed well in the 200-meter free relay alongside
Katerina Stebbins,
Ellie Williams and
Isabelle Calabio. The relay team finished in second, just under the two-minute mark at 1:59.33.

Calabio also saw individual success in the 200 meter free, landing in fourth at 2:21.57.

In the women's 50 free, the Saints saw back-to-back finishes from Stebbins and
Daelynn Haywood, finishing in fourth and fifth place.

On the men's side,
Dalton Rice tallied a fourth place spot in the 100 free, with
Xavier Harris landing in sixth.

The Saints will hit up the Tri-Meet scene once again as they travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa for a meet featuring Iowa Western Community College & Barton College on Oct. 12. Action is set to kick off at 11 a.m.Â
