Swimming Falls to Lewis in GLVC action

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Maryville men's and women's swimming teams faced tough competition Friday evening as they fell to Lewis University in dual action. The Flyers claimed victories in both matchups, defeating the Saints 169-30 in both the men's and women's meets.
 
Despite the team scores, the Saints recorded notable individual finishes. On the men's side, Gavin Baldes earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. In the 50-yard freestyle, Xavier Harris, Dalton Rice, and Devon Tallent placed second, third, and fourth, respectively. Wyatt Martin added another top finish for the Saints with a third-place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke.
 
For the Maryville women, Khadija Moustafa and Karen Bistrain-Diaz highlighted the evening with strong performances in the 50-yard backstroke, finishing third and fourth, respectively.

The Saints finish their GLVC regular season meets with a bout at Quincy on Jan. 25, starting at 6 p.m.
