CREVE COUER, Mo. – Adam Hall's Maryville men's soccer squad is just day away from their GLVC semifinal bout with the No. 3-seed McKendree Bearcats in the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals. The Saints have post-GLVC sights as well as they sit at No. 4 in the latest GLVC super region 3 regional rankings.
The semifinal bout has some added meaning behind it as the Bearcats are the only GLVC team above the Saints in the region, sitting at No. 2. They are joined by No. 5 Lewis and No. 9 UIndy as the teams in the race. The top four teams will host a NCAA tournament game while the top-ten squads will find themselves a spot in the tournament.
The No. 2-seeded Saints and the No. 3-seeded Bearcats will face off in the early semifinal game on Friday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. ET at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex.
All seven postseason games will be streamed live behind a paywall on the GLVC Sports Network at GLVCSN.com, on Android and iOS mobile apps, as well as OTT apps via AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
For those making the trip to the semifinals, single-day tickets are $15 for adults, and $5 for students with ID and youth 6-17 with children under five receiving free admission. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at
GLVCsports.com; no cash accepted on site. Admission will begin one hour prior to the start of action for both the semifinals and finals.
The Saints come in with loads of momentum after their trilling
overtime victory in the GLVC quarterfinals over UIS.
Mason Crew, the
GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, was the man to get the job done, scoring at the 5th minute of overtime off a corner set piece.
Last time the Saints and Bearcats face off it saw a 0-0 tie with the Saints getting 12 shots off to the McKendree two.
