EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Maryville swimming program wrapped up the 2024 season at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships over the weekend.
 
The men took 11
th at the five-day event, earning 164 points. Their top performance came from the 400 free relay. 
Colin Fitzgerald, 
Wyatt Martin, 
Gavin Baldes, and 
Devon Tallent broke the school record time with a collective finish of 3:14.55.
 
The women took home 10
th place with 171 total points. Freshman 
Aspyn Howard logged one of the top finishes for the Saints in the 50-yard freestyle, tallying a 25.66. 
Chase Hayes and 
Olivia Kindle were both selected as James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Honorees.  Student-athletes chosen for this award are those who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports competition setting. Hayes and Kindle are now eligible to become one of Maryville's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
