FST. LOUIS – Maryville University hit six home runs on Tuesday afternoon against No. 3 Central Missouri but ultimately fell 16-9.
Michael Long and
Jack Zebig both hit a pair of home runs in the loss, while freshman
Dominic Sharp hit the first of his career in the bottom of the first.

Central Missouri struck with an RBI single from Cole Moore in the top of the first inning. The Saints retaliated with a three-run home run from
Elias Stevens, a solo home run from
Michael Long, and
Dominic Sharp's first career home run that opened a 5-1 lead in the home half.
After a scoreless second, the Mules drew within two with an RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the third.
Jack Zebig hit a two-run bomb to right field in the fourth, his first of the day, before UCM scored one in the fifth and six in the sixth.
Zebig sent another ball out of Weber Field in the bottom half of the sixth to get within two runs of the lead at 10-8. The Saints surrendered another in the seventh and responded with Long's second home run of the game.
The Mules got a Vance Tobol three-run shot in the eighth and a Chase Heath two-run homer in the ninth before closing out a 16-9 victory.
