ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Maryville baseball fell in walk-off fashion to Lewis University to begin a road series on Friday afternoon. The Saints blew one-run leads in the sixth and eighth innings before surrendering a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10
th inning for the 3-2 final.

Starting pitchers
Jacob Kroeger and Dylan Wolff stifled offense all day, starting with a pair of scoreless innings to begin the game. Maryville got on the board in the top of the third, however, when
Andy Bunton singled to lead off the inning and came in to score on a groundout.

George Bilecki tied the game for the Flyers with a solo home run in the sixth and the Saints took back the lead on
Elias Stevens' RBI double in the eighth. In the bottom half of the eighth, Lewis got a double and an RBI single to tie the game at two.

One batter later, Kroeger left the game after 7.1 innings, 111 pitches, and 10 strikeouts.
Drake Downing was called on out of the bullpen and finished off the eighth before pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

In the bottom half of the 10
th, the Flyers got a walk and a single with one out that forced
Noah Harbin to enter the game on the mound for the Saints. Bilecki played hero again and ripped an RBI single over the infield for a 3-2 come-from-behind victory for Lewis.
