The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced Maryville baseball as a recipient of its fourth straight Team Academic Excellence Award. To be eligible for the award, a team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale during the 2023-24 academic year.
 
The ABCA recognized more than 470 college programs from across the country with the 2023-24 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, which is presented by Sports Attack. The Saints were one of 85 NCAA Division II programs recognized this season. The baseball team earned the Team Academic All-GLVC Award and had 33 individuals named to the Academic All-GLVC honor for the 2023-24 academic year.
 
The Saints set a program record with 40 victories in 2024 and claimed their first Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament title. Maryville returned to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season and reached the championship game of the Midwest Regional.
