ROLLA, MO. –
Gracie Stugart narrowly missed a triple-double and led the Maryville women's basketball team to a 72-57 victory at Missouri S&T. She finished with 14 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and dished out eight assists.
Lindsey Schadewalt led four Saints in double figures with 20 points, while
Claire Rake sank four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.
Annika Pluemer added 11 points. Maryville's defense limited the Lady Miners to 35.5 percent shooting.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Holding an 18-17 edge, the Saints reeled off eight straight points in under a minute to surge ahead. Schadewalt started the burst with a three-point play. Pluemer drilled a 3-pointer off a Stugart pass, and Stugart knocked down a short jumper for a 26-17 lead. The Miners closed to 31-24 but
Katey Flynn scored and Rake drained her third trey of the half as the Saints surged to a 36-24 cushion. Maryville took a 36-25 advantage into halftime.

Midway through the third, the Saints were up 45-35 until Stugart drilled back-to-back 3-pointers for a 51-35 advantage. The Miners chipped away at their deficit and got as close as 55-44. Stugart knocked down a pair at the stripe, and the Saints took a 57-44 edge into the final 10 minutes.

Missouri S&T made a charge early in the fourth quarter as consecutive 3-pointers pulled the Miners to within 57-50. The Saints answered from deep as Schadewalt and Rake connected to restore a 63-50 advantage.
Faith Hawthorne converted a layup for a 65-52 lead with 5:36 left in the game. Schadewalt drove the left baseline for a layup and her free throw put Maryville ahead 68-55 in the final moments of the game.
