SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The Maryville women's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end as Drury prevailed Saturday. The Saints fell into an early deficit and were unable to mount a comeback as Drury posted a 90-69 on its home court. Claire Rake and Lindsey Schadewalt paced the Saints with 16 points apiece, while Gracie Stugart finished with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Schadewalt knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Saints an early 3-2 lead but Drury scored the next 11 points to surge ahead. Later, Maryville used a 9-3 burst to cut down its deficit. Faith Hawthorne started the run with a layup, and Rake drained a 3-pointer. Annika Pluemer converted on a drive, and another jumper by Rake pulled the Saints to within 38-21. Drury took a 44-25 lead into halftime.

The Saints made a charge with a 9-2 burst in the third as Caden Krohn scored five points in the run.
