SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The Maryville women's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end as Drury prevailed Saturday. The Saints fell into an early deficit and were unable to mount a comeback as Drury posted a 90-69 on its home court.
Claire Rake and
Lindsey Schadewalt paced the Saints with 16 points apiece, while
Gracie Stugart finished with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Schadewalt knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Saints an early 3-2 lead but Drury scored the next 11 points to surge ahead. Stugart made a jumper to end the drought before the Lady Panthers tacked on a 14-0 run. The Saints scored four of the first five points of the second quarter. Later, Maryville used a 9-3 burst to cut down its deficit.
Faith Hawthorne started the run with a layup, and Rake drained a 3-pointer.
Annika Pluemer converted on a drive, and another jumper by Rake pulled the Saints to within 38-21. Drury took a 44-25 lead into halftime.

The Saints made a charge with a 9-2 burst in the third as
Caden Krohn scored five points in the run.
Adylan Ayer and Stugart hit back-to-back 3-pointers to finish the third quarter as the Saints drew to within 67-55. However, the Saints were unable to trim the deficit to single digits as Drury held off the Maryville charge.
