For the second time this season, Maryville junior Fernanda Diaz-Pizarro was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week. She earned the honor this week after garnering medalist honors at the Bill Crabtree Invitational. Diaz-Pizarro helped the Saints take the team title, too. She picked up the league honor previously Sept. 25.
 
Diaz-Pizarro shot scores of 72-72=144 to shoot even par and top the field of 40 players by four shots at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky. She tied for the tournament lead with six birdies, including four in her final round. Led by Diaz-Pizarro, the Saints won the team championship by three shots.
 
The Saints play their final fall tournament at the Bearcat Invitational Oct. 20-21, hosted by Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Ill.
