Justin Simonson had a hat trick and six assists, while
Colin Tobias fired in four goals as the No. 9 Maryville men's lacrosse team dominated Davenport 24-7 in the home opener for the Saints. The 24 goals are tied for the second most in program history and match the total tallied at Wheeling Jesuit Feb. 10, 2019. Simonson's six assists are the third-most in school history, and his nine points are tied for fifth-highest output in a single game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jake Grebe scored just over three minutes into the game off a feed from Simonson as the Saints tallied the first five goals of the contest.
Shea Raeburn won the ensuing faceoff, snared the ground ball and rifled in a goal just five seconds later. Tobias tallied his first of the day, and
Carter Bies followed.
Luke Chorlton sniped in a goal to boost the Saints to a 5-0 lead. Davenport pulled two goals back but the Saints answered with nine straight goals to take control.

Tobias ended the first and started the second with scores to spark the run.
Clayton Cerett tacked on a goal, and
Dagan Carlson followed a minute later. Simonson notched his first, while Bies and
Trent Zimay scored for a 12-2 margin at the break.
John Chorlton found the back of the net to begin the third, and Simonson tallied to make it 14-2.

The Panthers picked up two goals until Maryville sealed the win with five consecutive goals as the Saints steadily pulled away in the second half. Fourteen different Saints scored and 19 players notched at least one point. Maryville dominated faceoffs, winning 28-of-34 at the dot.
