ST. LOUIS – The Maryville men's volleyball team had its five-match winning streak come to an end as Rockhurst rallied for a 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-22, 16-14 decision.
Luke Kraft matched his career best with 23 kills, while
Makai Scott added 19 kills to go along with 10 digs.
Zac Clark came up with 21 digs, the second highest total in a match in program history.
Ethan Beyreis-Heim tied the single-match record with 51 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints hit a match best .364 to take set one, while the Hawks rallied late to take set two. Maryville scored seven of the final nine points to take the third set. Rockhurst turned the tables in the fourth and tallied six of the last seven to force a decisive fifth set.

The Saints scored the first two points of the set as Kraft had a kill, and
Kevin Doran served an ace. Rockhurst tied it before
David Fleischer and an RU error pushed the Saints back ahead. 4-2. The Hawks committed two errors as Maryville went ahead 6-3. The Saints pushed the margin to four on an RU error and a Scott kill. The Hawks closed back to 9-8 before the Saints took a 12-11 edge. The Hawks tallied the next three points to earn two match points. Kraft pounded down a kill, and Fleischer and Beyreis-Heim had a block to force a 14-14 tie. However, the Hawks capped their rally with two straight points to close out the match.
