MEMPHIS, TENN. – The Maryville men's volleyball team set a school record with a .554 hitting percentage as the Saints dominated LeMoyne-Owen College 25-10, 25-20, 25-16. The Saints drilled down 34 kills on 56 with just three errors to break the previous mark of .494 set against Talladega Feb. 10, 2024.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints cruised in the opening set with a .647 hitting mark, on 11 kills on 17 swings and no errors. Maryville scored the first five points of the match as Sobieralski served up two aces. Up 7-3, the Saints reeled off six straight points to grab a double-digit lead at 13-3. Sobieralski aced the Magicians two more times during a 4-0 as the Saints took the opener 25-10. The 10 points are the fewest allowed by Maryville in a set this season.

LOC held a narrow lead for the early portion of set two before the Saints turned a 12-11 deficit into a 15-12 lead. Ganev had a kill, and LOC committed an error. After an ace by

Tristan Benbow had a block. Maryville scored four straight, featuring two kills by Nicometo and two aces by Benbow, for a 22-17 advantage. A Klingbeil kill ended the set at 25-20.

Maryville built a 5-3 lead before tacking on four straight points. Benbow started the run with a kill, and Ganev added a kill.
Jake Usher served an ace before a LOC error made it 9-3. The Magicians closed to 14-12 until the Saints answered with seven straight points. Sobieralski started the spree with a kill and served four straight aces. After a kill by Klingbeil, Sobieralski tacked on another ace for a 21-12 advantage. Nicometo's kill ended the match at 25-16. Benbow ended the match with six kills on six swings
