HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints grabbed the early lead and stayed in front for nearly 37 minutes of game play. Up 9-8, Schadewalt drained consecutive 3-pointers for a 15-8 advantage. She hit her third of the quarter as the Saints eventually took a one-point lead after the first. Lewis took its only lead of the game at 21-19 but the Saints answered with six straight by Faith Hawthorne to retake the lead. Leading by four, Schadewalt's jumper sparked a 9-0 run, capped by Caden Krohn's layup for a 38-25 lead. The Saints took a 38-28 lead into the break.

The Saints pushed their advantage to as many as 13 points as Alicia Burgos scored on a layup for a 47-34 lead midway through the third. The cushion stayed in double digits as a late Burgos jumper handed Maryville a 57-45 edge going into the final quarter. The Flyers made a push and slowly cut into the Maryville margin. The Saints still led 61-55 with six minutes to play before Burgos scored inside, and Pluemer added a layup to re-stablish a double-digit lead of 65-55. Later, three free throws built the margin to 68-57 with 2:33 remaining and the Saints cruised to upset the No. 1 seeded Flyers.
