ST. LOUIS  – The Maryville men's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game and raced to a 13-6 victory over Indianapolis in the semifinals of the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The Saints blanked the Greyhounds for the first 25 minutes of the game to take early control. Maryville advances to the GLVC Championship game Saturday, May 3, starting at Noon, and faces No. 3 seed Lewis for the title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trent Zimay scored 55 seconds into the game to give the Saints a lead they would not give up.
Jake Grebe doubled the Maryville lead off a feed from
Colin Tobias.
Dagan Carlson found the back of the net for a 3-0 margin after the first quarter.

Simonson fired in a goal 53 ticks into the second, and
Lucas Marschitz found the back of the net. Zimay tallied his second of the day, and
Drew Marshall scored to push the margin to 7-0. UIndy finally scored its first of the game with 4:22 to play in the quarter but
Clayton Cerett answered for the Saints for an 8-1 lead at halftime.

The Greyhounds opened the third with a goal before
Colin Tobias struck back for the Saints. The Greyhounds enjoyed their best run of play to close the gap to 9-5 late in the third.
Joel Lucas scored as the Saints built a 10-5 margin heading to the final quarter.

The Saints took control by notching the first three goals to start the second.
Connor Kvaal and Simonson posted goals, and
John Chorlton snapped in a long-pole goal for a 13-5 advantage with 11:29 to play.
Dylan Radke came up with 12 saves to slow down the UIndy attack.
