SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Maryville STUNT team went 2-2 over the weekend at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite in Shawnee, Okla. All four of the Saints matches were against top-25 programs.
On Saturday, the Saints fell in a tight battle to No. 4 Dallas Baptist, 29-11 before beating No. 11 Texas Women's 25-21 to end the first day 1-1.

The second day's competition was not nearly as close with the Saints opening with a 26-7 beatdown of No. 14 Southern Nazarene. They ended their tournament weekend with a 29-5 loss to host and No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.

On Saturday, DBU and Maryville went neck and neck, with Maryville not falling in any period by more than three points, the closest period being the opening round of partner stunts where DBU won 5-4.
It was even after two periods against Texas Woman's, with the Pioneers taking the advantage in the third round, that being jumps and tumbling, forcing Maryville to put together a comeback in team routine. That they did, winning the final period 14-9 to deny the Pioneers the upset.

Sunday's win over Southern Nazarene was highlighted by a 14-3 domination of team routine for the Saints. Before that, the Saints held a 12-4 lead in the matchup.

The final game of the weekend for the Saints saw Maryville grab points in the final three periods but be overwhelmed by No. 4-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.

The Saints head to Fayette, Mo., for the Central Methodist Invite where the Saints will battle both Central Methodist and Drury twice.
