LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Maryville STUNT team has officially concluded its first regular season as an NCAA program, ending with a 3-1 weekend at the University of Kentucky hosted Coast to Coast Showdown.
The Saints finish their campaign a staggering 21-4, 7-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition. Maryville is now seeded No. 1 for the first ever GLVC Championship Tournament, which will start Friday, April 3, with Maryville facing off against No. 8-seeded Southwest Baptist in the first round at 11:30 a.m.
The championship is set to be held at the O'Reilly Family Event Center at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.
COAST TO COAST SHOWDOWN RECAP
The Saints had a pair of contests on both days in Lexington, Ky., battling NCAA DI's No. 7-ranked Central Arkansas in their first match on Friday, dominating the Bears on route to a 28-13 victory. A top-five battle was due next as the Saints dropped one to No. 2-ranked Jessup by a score of 31-15.
Saturday, the Saints picked right back up to the win column, blanking Southern Arkansas 24-0, before winning a nailbiter against NCAA DI's No. 4-ranked Missouri State to end the regular season.
