QUINCY, Ill. – The No. 7 Maryville STUNT team opened the 2026 season with a sweep at the Quincy Kickoff Classic. The Saints began the day with a dominant GLVC win over host Quincy, 27-4, before closing the opener with an 11-0 shutout of Buena Vista.


VS. QUINCY

Against the Hawks, the Saints opened with a 4-0 sweep in partner stunts, then followed with 5-1 victories in both the second quarter (pyramids and tosses) and third quarter (jumps and tumbling).

The fourth and final period was where the Saints truly shined, overwhelming Quincy 13-2 in team routine to cap the 27-4 victory.

 
VS. BUENA VISTA
Maryville pitched its first shutout of the season in game two, blanking NCAA Division III No. 7 Buena Vista, 11-0.

A quiet opening in partner stunts left the Saints ahead 1-0 after the first quarter. A 2-0 performance in pyramids and tosses pushed the lead to 3-0 at halftime.

Another 2-0 effort in jumps and tumbling kept Maryville firmly in control heading into the fourth quarter. The Saints closed the bout with a 6-0 showing in team routine to secure the perfect start to the season.

The Maryville STUNT team returns to action next weekend at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite. The Saints will face a gauntlet beginning Saturday, Feb. 12, competing against four top-25 programs over a two-day span.
