Maryville University men's volleyball picked up a pair of weekly awards from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. For the second consecutive week,
Makai Scott was selected the Offensive Player of the Week, while
Jake Usher was chosen the GLVC Setter of the Week. The pair helped the Saints post a 2-0 week, including a sweep over NAIA #6 Missouri Baptist.

Scott posted 31 kills and 10 digs on the week. He recorded 16 kills while hitting .345 as the Saints swept No. 6 Missouri Baptist. Scott added four digs in the match as the Saints won at MBU for the first time in program history. He followed up with 15 kills and six digs in the victory over Cumberland. Scott tacked on six digs, two assists, one service ace and one block.

Usher distributed 71 assists with four kills, two blocks and two digs in the two wins last week. He started by recording 40 assists which was a season-high 13.3 assists per set, in the sweep at Missouri Baptist. Usher chipped in two blocks and one dig at MBU as the Saints had a season-best .398 hitting percentage as a team. In the next match, he handed out 31 assists and had one dig in the win over Cumberland.

The Saints return to the court Friday, Feb. 13, when they welcome Edward Waters University to Moloney Arena for a 7 pm contest.
