INDIANAPOLIS -
Grace Brown won the decisive singles match that helped the Maryville women's tennis team upset No. 2 seed Drury 4-3 in the first round of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The Saints advance to face top-seed Missouri-St. Louis Saturday in a 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET start at Center Grove High School.

Nazli Saka worked for a 6-4 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
Maria Mateos and
Mira Vasileva swept their contest at No. 3 doubles to give the Saints the important doubles team point and a 1-0 lead.

Mateos won 12 of the 13 games in her match at No. 4 during a 6-1. 6-0 win. Saka dropped her first set but rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 2 to get the Saints to three team points. Drury won three singles matches to set up the final match at No. 6. Brown lost the opening set but came back with matching 6-4, 6-4 wins in the final two sets to hand the Saints the winning point.
