The Maryville women’s tennis team recorded its first victory of the season with a 9-0 triumph over Blackburn College Monday at home. The Saints recorded straight set wins in every match as they improved to 1-3 on the year.
 
The three doubles teams all notched their victories by the identical score of 8-1. Chelsea Travis and Nicole Kaltwasser played at No. 1 doubles, Lauren Land and Valerie Saxton were slotted at No. 2 and Maria Lesko and Anna Hindelang won at No. 3.
 
In singles, Travis defeated her opponent without dropping a game at No. 1 singles. Land battled to a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2, while Natalie Pfremmer recorded a 6-0, 6-1 triumph. Kaltwasser recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win, and Saxton was victorious while only losing one game at the fourth and fifth spots, respectively. Lesko eased to a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 6.
