In the inaugural meet of the Maryville University women's swimming and diving program, the Saints participated in the Show-Me Showdown in Columbia, Mo., Saturday afternoon. The meet featured schools from all NCAA divisions from the state of Missouri.

Maryville's first race was the 200-medley relay with Jessica Miller, Olivia Shannon, Samantha Gach and Kelly Nuetzel the first Saints in the pool in official competition. Maryville finished 17th in its first race.

Alyssa Cradic participated in the 200-free and clocked a time of 2:21.35, and she posted a 1:09.54 in the 100-butterfly. Meanwhile, Gach recorded a 28.17 in the 50-free, followed by Nuetzel at 28.99 and Chelsey Gerber in 33.50. Later in the 100-free, Gach came home in 1:01.84, with Jessica Miller next at 1:03.06, and Lucy Helzerman finished in 1:13.55.

In the 500-free, Shannon finished with a time of 6:03.35. In the 200-free relay, the Saints "A" team of Shannon, Jill Johnston, Gach and Miller finished with a time of 1:54.29, and the "B" squad posted a 2:03.29. The 100-backstroke saw Miller top the Saints with a 1:14.73, just ahead of teammate Johnston in 1:14.83, and Helzerman in 1:30.25.

The final event the Saints participated in was the 100-breaststroke. Shannon posted a time of 1:17.80, while Nuetzel was at 1:21.33, and Gerber was at 1:34.87.
