SLU Day two results
The Maryville swimming and diving team concluded action on day two of a double-dual meet hosted by Saint Louis University and included Arkansas-Little Rock.
Jill Johnston and
Chelsey Gerber competed in the 100-freestyle sprint and posted times of 1:08.26 and 1:16.65, respectively, for the Saints.
Olivia Shannon was the first Saint to touch home in the 200-IM in 2:27.65, while
Kelly Nuetzel finished in 2:41.92, and
Lucy Helzerman was at 3:01.39.
For the one-meter diving event,
Shawn Gans totalled 136.35 points. The next event was the 200-freestyle relay and the Saints were represented by Nuetzel, Helzerman, Johnston and
Chelsey Gerber clocked a 2:03.68. In the 500-freestyle, Nuetzel covered the distance in 6:26.80. Johnston recorded a time of 2:46.03 in the 200-backstroke, while Helzerman finished in 3:00.46.
Shannon touched the wall in the 200-breaststroke in 2:45.545, and Gerber was at 3:24.45. In the final event of the meet, the Saints finished the 800-freestyle relay with a time of 9:28.76. Saint Louis downed Maryville 144-19 Friday night and 178-13 Saturday morning. UALR defeated the Saints158-12 on day one and 158-23 during the second day.
Maryville is back in action at the Drury Invitational Nov. 22-23 in Springfield, Mo.
