2014 Washington University Invitational final results
The Maryville swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the 2014 Washington University Invitational which concluded Saturday afternoon. The Saints amassed 212 points and were edged out for fourth by Rose-Hulman.

In the first event of the day, diver
Shawn Gans finished in seventh place with a final total of 214.5 points on the one-meter diving board. The relay team of
Lucy Helzerman,
Chelsey Gerber,
Jill Johnston and
Jessica Miller came come in sixth place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 5:14.74. The Saints followed up in the 200 freestyle relay with a fifth-place finish behind the efforts of Miller, Helzerman,
Olivia Shannon and Johnston with a time of 1:55.62.

Shannon scored points in the 400 IM as she finished in 5:15.68, and Helzerman was Maryville's top finisher in the 50 free in 29.18. In the 100 backstroke, Johnston led a trio of Saints with a time of 1:13.97. Shannon and
Kelly Nuetzel picked up points in the 200 breaststroke with times of 2:47.61 and 2:54.10, respectively.

In the final event of the day, the 400 freestyle relay, the Saints came home in sixth place as Johnston, Shannon, Miller and Nuetzel clocked a time of 4:17.57.
