Saint Louis/Western Illinois results
The Maryville swimming and diving team participated in a double-dual hosted by Saint Louis University which also featured Western Illinois University. WIU defeated the Saints 161-34, while the Billikens downed Maryville 148-34.
In the opening 400 medley relay, the Saints squad of Jessica Miller, Kelly Nuetzel, Olivia Shannon and Jill Johnston finished in 4:47.86. In the 200 free, Lucy Helzerman was seventh in a time of 2:26.71. Chelsey Gerber took eighth in the 50 free in 32.88 for the Saints. Shannon picked up a fourth-place finish with a time of 2:26.66, while Nuetzel was seventh.
Shawn Gans amassed 158.18 points in the one-meter diving event to score second-place points. The 200 backstroke saw Johnston and Helzerman finish fifth and sixth, respectively. Miller came home in fourth place in the 500 free, while Gerber had a second in the 200 breaststroke by clocking a 2:26.85. In the final event, the 400 free relay, the Saints lineup of Nuetzel, Johnston, Shannon and Miller was fourth in 4:13.42.
