St. Louis - City rivals Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis met up at the Maryville Tennis Courts and the visiting Tritons emerged with a 5-2 win over the Saints. UMSL won two of the doubles matches and emerged to take the singles contests.
At No. 1 doubles, Philine Schlorf and Adriana Armendariz combined to battle for an 8-5 win over the Tritons. However, UMSL bounced back to edge out the No. 2 doubles 8-6 and took the final doubles match 8-1. Schlorf got the Saints off to an early start in singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the top singles match. After UMSL took the No. 2 singles match, Maryville's Anne Lutz and UMSL's Nina Bellanger battled into the third set before Bellanger snuck out a 10-8 win, and the Tritons took the last point they needed to finish the match.
