Quincy, Ill. - Behind a sterling late 5-4 comeback victory at Quincy, the Maryville women's tennis team earned the program's first berth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference postseason tournament. The Saints will face GLVC East Division top seed Lewis Friday, April 18, in a Noon match at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis' Forest Park.
 
Against the Hawks, the Saints won the No. 1 doubles match as Adriana Armendariz and Philine Schlorf posted an 8-5 decision. Maryville dropped the other two doubles matches to fall behind in the team score.
 
After dropping one singles match, Nicole Kitsuse recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 to pull the Saints back to 3-2. Renske Linders notched a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the fifth singles slot as Maryville tied the match at 3-3. Schlorf pushed the Saints ahead for the first time on the day 4-3 with a straight set 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 1 singles. Quincy won the next singles slot to force a 4-4 as the match would be decided by the remaining singles match. In that contest, Armendariz and QU's Elizabeth Kuenzi split the first two sets as the match came down to the final set. Armendariz trailed in the third set 5-4 but rallied to win three straight games, the set 7-5 and give the Saints the crucial 5-4 match win to send them to the GLVC Tournament.
