Box Score Playing its third straight road contest, the Maryville men's soccer team had a flurry of shots at the end of regulation but 110 minutes of play did not produce a winner as the Saints and Illinois Springfield settled for a 0-0 tie. The Saints enjoyed a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal but none of the six shots found the range.

Nate Alonzo had the first shot on goal of the game by UIS keeper Tommy Geile made the save. On the next possession, the Prairie Stars had a ball headed on frame but
Christian Kjaersgaard kept the game scoreless. A few minutes later, UIS had another shot on goal before Kjaersgaard made his final save of the night as the Maryville defense kept the Prairie Stars offense off the scoreboard.

Early in the second half, UIS had two shots run wide but neither team had a strong scoring chance until late. Following a corner kick,
Sam Scoles had an attempt saves.
Landon Paul nearly won it again in the 84th minute but he too was stopped by Geile. Erik Shafer had the final chance in regulation but the game moved into overtime.

UIS had three shots in the first overtime but none made their way toward the Maryville goal.
Luke Gilsinger had an attempt early in the second OT but the Saints settled for their second scoreless draw of the season. Geile ended the night with four saves for UIS.

The Saints are now 5-7-2 overall, 3-6-2 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars are now 4-8-2 overall, 2-7-2 in the league. Maryville makes the short trip to Lebanon, Ill., to take on McKendree Sunday afternoon. Â
