The women's tennis team made the short trip to Clayton, Mo., to face No. 9 ranked Washington University but the Saints were swept by the Bears.

Anne Lutz and Puck Vlaskamp battled at No. 1 doubles but were downed 8-5, while Katharina Tietmann and Kine Kleppe took three games in the second doubles slot. Andrea Fandino and Rebekah Anderson challenged their WU counterparts at No. 3 but were dealt an 8-4 decision.

Kleppe won three games in the first set but WU's Rebecca Ho closed out the match in the second set. Anderson extended her opponent Jamie Silverberg but was edged 7-5 in the second. Vlaskamp and Manon Halna Du Fretay fell short at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Makenna Parker and Tietmann lost the final two contests to close out the match.

The Saints are next on court Friday, March 27, as they head to Liberty, Mo., to face William Jewell in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.
