The Maryville women's tennis team went 1-1 on its trip to the state of Arkansas over the weekend. The Saints dropped a 9-0 match to Arkansas Tech but downed Ouachita Baptist 8-1.

The Saints fell behind by dropping all three doubles matches to ATU but tried to battle back in the singles.
Andrea Fandino and
Anne Lutz both won one set in their matches but were unable to take the deciding set, while
Kine Kleppe dropped a tough match 11-9 in the final superset.

Against Ouachita, the Saints jumped ahead by sweeping the three doubles contests. Lutz and Vlaskamp won 8-5 at No. 1, and
Rebekah Anderson and Kleppe took No. 2 doubles by an 8-3 score. Fandino and Katerina Tietmann swept their match at No. 3 doubles by an 8-0 decision.

In singles, OBU won the first singles match but the Saints took the final five matchups. Vlaskamp, Kleppe and Anderson swept their contests, while
Makenna Parker prevailed in three sets. Tietmann took the final superset by a 10-4 decision.
