Chicago - The Maryville women's tennis team defeated Walsh 7-2 on day two of the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament Friday in Chicago. The Saints took two of three doubles matches and cruised to five victories in singles play.
 
Walsh won the point at No. 1 doubles before Andrea Fandino and Sarah Etter posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Cara Rickert and Lucy Horbatowski won all eight games to sweep the No. 3 doubles match 8-0. The Saints dominated singles slots four through six as the three players only lost five games. Puck Vlaskamp won her No. 4 match 6-1, 6-0, and Rebekah Anderson took the No. 5 singles contest by the same scoreline. Kine Kleppe was victorious as No. 6 singes 6-1, 6-2 as the Saints clinched the win. Etter won the No. 1 singles match 10-6 in the third, while Fandino and Horbatowski both won 10-7 in the third set to take their respective matches.
 
The Saints are now 4-5 on the season. Maryville closes out the tournament Saturday as it takes on nationally-ranked Tiffin.
