St. Louis - The Maryville women's tennis team challenged No. 33 Drury but the Panthers were up to the task and posted an 8-1 victory over the Saints Saturday in St. Louis.
To open the match, the Panthers took all three doubles points 8-4, 8-2 and 8-5. The Saints battled back in singles play as four of the matches went the distance.

At No. 2, Andrea Fandio posted a shutout in set two but dropped the finale 6-3. In the number three slot, Puck Vlaskamp lost the first set, won set two 6-4 but fell 6-1 in the last set. Rebekah Anderson won the first set of her match at No. 5 but her opponent rallied to take the last two sets. Kine Kleppe recorded a win at No. 6 singles by rallying for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 triumph.

The Saints are now 6-8 overall, 2-2 in the GLVC. Drury improves to 15-1 overall and has won the GLVC West Division title with a perfect 6-0 GLVC slate.
