Kirksville, Mo. - The Maryville Saints went on the road and emerged with an 8-1 triumph over Truman State in women's tennis Friday afternoon.
Puck Vlaskamp and Rebekah Anderson combined to cruise to an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Truman won the points at No. 2 doubles but Makenna Parker and Sarah Etter won in the number three doubles slot by an 8-6 scoreline.
The Saints closed out the match with wins in all six singles contests, including five by straigh sets. Etter won 12 of 13 sets to claim the top singles position, and Andrea Fandino eased to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at second singles. Vlaskamp won her match at No. 3 singles with a 10-5 decision in the final set, while Lucy Horbatowski notched a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the fourth singles. Anderson cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at number five singles, and Kine Kleppe only dropped one game in each of her two sets at No. 6.
