Spingfield, Ill. - The Maryville women's tennis squad cruised past Illinois Springfield 7-2 in the final fall season match for 2017. The Saints swept all three doubles matches to jumpstart the win.
 
Rebekah Anderson and Lina Kunert emerged with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Sarah Etter and Kine Kleppe eased to an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles. In the final doubles contest, Sandra Hinterberger and Ashley Dowden posted an 8-3 triumph for a Saints sweep.
 
In singles play, Anderson won her No. 2 match 6-2, 6-3, and Hinterberger recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4. Kleppe emerged with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the fifth singles match, while Dowden won her No. 6 contest 6-0, 6-3.
