Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The Maryville women's tennis team ventured down to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to take on NCAA Division I squad Southeast Missouri State but the Redhawks defeated the Saints 6-1.
 
In singles play, Sarah Etter recorded the lone victory for the Saints. She split the first two sets, winning set one 6-1 before dropping the second by the same score. However, in the tiebreaker, Etter emerged with the win by a 10-8 score. The Redhawks won the other four singles matches to end the contest. In doubles action, SEMO took the top two slots but the duo of Lucy Horbatowski and Etter won a tiebreak 7-3 in an exhibition at the third doubles position.
 
The defeat drops the Saints record to 8-4 on the season. Maryville is next in action with three matches at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament March 17-19.
