In the first match of the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament in Chicago, the Maryville women's team battled Lewis but was edged out 5-4 by the Flyers.

The Saints grabbed the early lead by winning No. 3 doubles as
Sarah Etter and
Lucy Horbatowski posted an 8-2 victory. The Flyers rebounded by winning the other two doubles contests.

Lewis took the first singles point before
Rebekah Anderson garnered a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6. Horbatowski pulled the Saints into a 3-3 tie as she won her No. 5 match by the same 6-2, 6-1 score. However, the Flyers took the next two matches to close out the match.
Kine Kleppe won her tilt at No. 4 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 for the final margin.

The Saints slip to 8-5 on the season, while the Flyers are now 6-4. Maryville is back in action Saturday as it faces Ferris State.
