Chicago - The Maryville women's tennis team squared off against No. 4 regionally-ranked Northwood but fell short in a 6-3 decision to close out the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament in Chicago Sunday afternoon.

The Saints fell behind as Northwood grabbed all three doubles points to jump ahead. Maryville tried to rally in the singles but the Timberwolves kept the lead. The Saints did take points at the second, fifth and sixth singles matches.

The Saints are now 9-6 this year, while Northwood improves to 20-2 on the season. Maryville is back in action Saturday, March 25, as it hosts city-rival University of Missouri-St. Louis for an 11 a.m. match.
