Springfield, Ill. - The Maryville women's tennis team rolled to a 7-2 victory at Illinois Springfield Friday afternoon in Springfield, Ill. The Saints are back in action Saturday when they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis at Woods Mill Tennis Courts at 6 p.m.

The Saints jumped out and took control of the match by sweeping all three double matches. Rebekah Anderson and Puck Vlaskamp notched an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while Sandra Hinterberger and Lina Kunert made it 2-0 with an 8-4 victory in the second doubles spot. Sarah Etter and Lucy Horbatowski cruised to an 8-1 triumph at number three.

In singles action the Saints won all four matches in straight sets. Vlaskamp took a 6-1, 6-4 win in the No. 2 slot, while Hinterberger eased to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Anderson won 6-4, 6-4 at the fifth singles slot, while Horbatowski notched a 6-4, 6-1 decision.
