Summary
Nolan Berry sank 10-of-13 field goal attempts en route to 27 points to guide the Maryville men's basketball team to an 86-77 victory over McKendree Saturday afternoon in Moloney Arena. Berry converted all three 3-point attempts and added eight rebounds to go along with five assists. The Saints saw all five starters score in double figures.

What Happened
Down 41-40 at halftime,
Robin Thompson scored in the first minute of the second half to put the Saints up by one. A
Casey Teson 3-pointer gave Maryville a 47-43 advantage but McKendree stayed close. The Bearcats eventually took a 59-55 edge with 13 minutes to play before the Saints surged back to take the lead for good. Berry scored to start a 7-0 burst. Teson knocked down a jumper, and
Forrester Sims followed with a layup. One Berry free throw was good for a 62-59 lead at the 10:16 mark.

The Saints were up 62-61 until a Thompson dunk began a 11-5 run. Berry hit two free throws, and after McKendree scored, Thompson powered up for another layup. Berry hammered down a dunk and was fouled. His free throw was good for a 73-66 lead with 6:41 remaining. McKendree closed the gap to 76-73.
Grant Sims hit two free throws followed by a Teson three-pointer to restore the lead back to 81-73 with 3:09 to go. The Saints sealed the win by scoring the final five points of the contest.
