Maryville Leads at Half but Wheeling Jesuit Rallies Past Saints 8-6

Summary
The Maryville men's lacrosse surged ahead to grab a halftime lead but Wheeling Jesuit rallied to down the Saints 8-6 Wednesday afternoon. Maxwell Johnson and #Parker# Lee led the Saints with two goals apiece.
                                                                         
What Happened
The Cardinals tallied twice to open the game before Lee scored with four seconds left in the first quarter to pull the Saints to within 2-1. Austin Myers won the faceoff to start the second, and Lee struck again to tie the score just 12 ticks into the quarter. Wheeling Jesuit retook a 3-2 lead before the Saints surged ahead. Johnson tallied his first goal with 3:42 left in the half to tie the score. Zach Steltzer fired in a shot just over a minute later to hand Maryville a 4-3 lead at intermission.
 
Wheeling Jesuit scored three times in the third as the Saints were unable to find the back of the net over the 15 minutes. In heavy traffic in front of the net, Justin Amling finally scored in the fourth to pull the Saints to 6-5. WJU tallied the next two goals before Johnson earned one back with 1:39 remaining.
