The Saints (20-7, 12-6) have earned a berth into the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and begin play Friday, March 2, at 8:30 p.m. The tournament is being held at the Vadalabene Center on the campus of SIU Edwardsville. Maryville is the No. 5 seed and faces No. 4 seed Indianapolis. If the Saints are victorious, they will play the winner of the No. 1 Bellarmine-No. 8 William Jewell game Saturday, March 3, at 8:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, in a 3:30 p.m. tip.

ABOUT INDIANAPOLIS
The Greyhounds are 18-8 and posted a 12-6 slate in the GLVC. Tate Hall and Ajay Lawton pace UIndy at 15.3 and 15.0 ppg, respectively. Hall, a first-team All-GLVC selection, grabs 5.7 boards a game, while Lawton, an All-GLVC second team honoree, has dished out a team-best 91 assists.
LAST MEETING
The Greyhounds rallied to edge the Saints 77-76 February 3 in Indianapolis. The Saints had the potential game-winning shot misfire in the waning seconds. Jimmy Barton scored 18 points to lead four Maryville players in double figures. Indy native Forrester Sims chipped in 14 points with a career-high nine reounds.
ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
Senior center
Nolan Berry (St. Louis, Mo. / DeSmet) was named the 2017-18 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year to highlight the post-season awards for the Maryville men's basketball team. The 6-foot-10 center was a unanimous selection to the All-GLVC first team and voted to the All-Defensive Team. Junior forward
Robin Thompson (St. Louis, Mo. / MICDS) earned second-team All-GLVC honors.
Berry is Maryville's first GLVC Player of the Year and finished the regular season averaging 18.8 points per game, good for second in the GLVC, and a league-leading 11.0 rebounds per game. He has recorded 16 double-doubles while shooting 61.3 percent from the field, which ranks third in the league. Berry has hit 53.1 percent (26-of-49) of his shots from 3-point range and is converting at 77.0 percent at the free-throw line. Nationally, he is eighth in the nation in rebounds per game, tied for eighth in double-doubles and is 13th in field goal percentage.
Thompson is averaging 13.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg while shooting 60.1 percent from the field. He has recorded six double-doubles and has notched season highs of 21 points against William Jewell and 12 rebounds versus Missouri S&T. Thompson has scored in double figures on 22 occasions. He is second on the team with 26 blocked shots and 17 steals.
IN THE GLVC TOURNAMENT
The Saints have qualified for the GLVC Tournament for the first time since the 2015 championships. Maryville won at Southern Indiana to open the tourney before top-seed Bellarmine eliminated the Saints at Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Saints are 13th in the NCAA Midwest regional rankings that were released Wednesday and looking to move into the top eight. It is the final poll of the season before the NCAA Division II Tournament is announced Sunday, March 4, at 9:30 p.m.
