The Maryville women's tennis squad won its third straight match to close the regular season with an 8-0 victory at Truman State Monday in Kirksville, Mo.
Rebekah Anderson and Lina Kunert won an 8-3 match at the top doubles competition, while Sarah Etter and Kine Kleppe notched an 8-5 decision at No. 2 doubles. Ashley Dowden and Sandra Hinterberger won all eight games to take their No. 3 doubles match.
Etter won her No. 1 singles match via a 6-4, 6-1 margin, and Hinterberger took her No. 2 match via a 6-0, 6-2 margin. Kleppe edged out a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles, while Dowden dominated in a 6-0, 6-3 score at No. 4. Anderson won an 8-1 superset match at No. 5 singles to complete the contest.
Maryville brings a 10-6 record, 4-2 in the league to the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Friday in Springfield, Mo. Truman State finishes its season 2-10 overall, 1-5 in the GLVC.
