In the first match of the 2019 spring season, the Maryville men's tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to Illinois Springfield Friday at Sunset Tennis Center.

The Prairie Stars took two of the three doubles matches to take the first point. In singles play, Jack Beuttell-Triggs won his match at the top slot. He was victorious with a 6-0, 6-4 decision. However, UIS took the remaining five matches to close out the victory.

The Saints are back in action Saturday as they take on Washington University in a match to be held in Belleville, Ill.
