SPRINGFIELD, ILL. - The Maryville men's tennis team rallied to come back at defeat Illinois Springfield by a narrow 4-3 decision that propelled the Saints into the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.
 
Luca Morbioli and Maksym Chernogorov won their doubles match at No. 3 by a 6-2 score but the Prairie Stars took the doubles point.
 
At No. 3 singles, Michel Delaloye rallied for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 decision, while Diego Alvarez took a close 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-4) win at No. 4. Chernogorov took his match at No. 5 by a straight set 6-2, 6-2 score, and before cruised at No. 6 via a 6-4, 6-2 decision to cap the rally.
 
The 2026 GLVC Championship runs May 1-3 at Center Grove High School in Indianapolis.
