Seibel Earns USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Cross Country Honors

The Maryville University senior women's cross country runner Megan Seibel (Belleville, Ill. / Althoff Catholic) was selected to the 2018 US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II All-Academic Cross Country Honor. The Saints women's team garnered selection for the Team All-Academic honor with a 3.72 team grade point average, while the men's team was recognized by its 3.39 team GPA.
 
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at his or her regional championships and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship meet. Teams had to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet during the season to earn All-Academic team honors.
 
Seibel was Maryville's top runner in five of the six meets she competed in for the Saints. She was the overall winner at both the McKendree Invitational and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Fall Classic. Seibel was second overall at Central Methodist's meet and took third at the UIS Prairie Star race. She was the top finisher for the Saints at the NCAA Regional Meet and placed second for the team at the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships.
 
Seibel was one of 379 Division II women in the country honored with the selection. There were 231 women's teams and 196 men's teams that earned All-Academic honors.
