What Happened
Rockhurst tallied the first two goals before
Ethan Symons scored for the Saints. The Hawks eventually built a 6-1 lead. Shafer registered a man-up goal before Rockhurst retook a five-goal edge. Shafer found the back of the net in the final minute but the Hawks scored in the waning seconds for an 8-3 advantage. The Saints dominated the second quarter and did not give up a goal. Shafer completed his hat trick to open the second 15 minutes, and
Jacob Allen tacked on score. Wenck scored his first, while
Jake Socia charged into the offensive end for his first goal of the year to pull the Saints to 8-7 at halftime.

The Hawks scored first in the third quarter before Lee answered for the Saints. Rockhurst took a 10-8 lead midway through the quarter but neither team scored the rest of the period. The Saints were looking to pull even but the Hawks showed why they are atop the conference with three straight goals to start the final quarter. The Saints scored three of the next four goals to make one more charge. Lee scored before Rockhurst took a 14-9 lead.
Jayden Fraser and Wenck tallied back-to-back goals as the Saints got as close as 14-11. The Hawks iced the game with a goal in the final minute.

Liam Coyle came up with a season-high 20 saves between the pipes to keep the Saints close.
Tim McCarthy and Shafer tied for the team lead with three ground balls, while Shafer led Maryville with three caused turnovers.
